It’s an irony of our modern lives that while technology is continually invented that saves us time, we use that time to do more and more things, and so our lives are more fast-paced and hectic than ever.
Therefore we have less time for each other and become disconnected from the world. Deadlines and 24/7 agendas make us rush from one thing to another.

Many young people growing up today mostly know life arrhythmic. For them, this state of deviation from nature appears normal. They have not experienced living in tune with the natural rhythms.

Being part of a community based festival like Summer Never Ends gives many a chance to break free from the daily rhythm. It paves the way to an alternative mode of being which leads to a utopian imagination. We better ourselves as people and take care of our surroundings.

We feel connected with each other which leads to generosity, sharing and caring for each other.

Conceptualised and produced for Summer Never Ends Festival in Switzerland between May 2015 and July 2016. Shot in The Netherlands, Germany, Zwitserland and Brazil.

Rhythm was screened at the EYE film museum in Amsterdam as part of the EYE on ART exhibition 2015.
